Simply Saturday

What a great afternoon to be crafting!  The sky has been threatening rain, but it has held off for most of the day...but still a good excuse to be in my office :)

I've actually combined three challenges today, and I can't believe it!

A little while back I came across some markers from Shinhanart called Touch Twin Brush markers and I've been waiting for them to arrive in Australia...and they have!  I've been stalking one of my suppliers for ages waiting for them to come in so I could give them a go.  They are very similar to Copics and blend just as easily!  The colours I've used for the balloons and the ribbon are : R16, R15, YR33, Y37, B68.  I don't have a lot of colours just yet, but like any collections I'm sure this will grow!!

It's the last Friday of the month and that means another sketch challenge from AnnaBelle Stamps!
I love to follow a sketch, and this one believe it or not is a perfect CAS sketch!

I've used some lovely felt textured cardstock for my card and simply used Distress Inks to colour two pieces and then stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia.  The images are from the set All Things Grow.  This set is due back in stock any day as I had notification it was heading through customs yesterday!!  I just love tracking my parcels lol!

The twine is our natural 0.8mm twine and the pearls 4mm White.

Simply Saturday

It has been a gorgeous day here, with the sun managing to keep me warm up until now :)
I found a great sketch on the Clean & Simple blog HERE and thought it would suit a card I'd been asked to make.  Now purple was the other requirement which is a really hard colour for me!

Once again my early morning photography isn't much good, with the white card looking decidedly grey!

Using a very well inked DI Seedless Preserves I've distressed around my base card then stamped the silhouette with the same colour.  I cut my circle using a Spellbinders die and distressed in Seedless Preserves, Milled Lavender and Shabby Shutters.  The Sprinkles are Boysenberry and Lime, and the twine 0.8mm Purple.  In this photo you can just make out the scored lines above and below the twine!

Say It In...Lime & Orange

I've had little time to play this week and hope that things will settle in to a better routine next week!  I miss it!

I have taken the sketch from iSpy Sketches and used it (very loosely) to create my card!  Here's the sketch from Leanne who created a stunningly elegant card (mine isn't!) :

My image - Lil Monster's Balloon - has been stamped with Memento and coloured with Copics before cutting with a new die due for release very shortly!!
The Belles have put the die to good use this week and created some amazing cards so be sure to stop by and say hello!

Say It With...Stitching

I love to machine stitch but I rarely do because my machine is a little difficult to get out!

Today I thought I'd make my MIL's card so I have it done ready for the weekend!  I've kept it very simple and was inspired by the challenge card over at CASE Study this week.

I've used our Mother's Day Bouquet set, crimped some card (haven't used this gadget in ages!), and added some stitching.  The flowers have been lightly coloured with Copics.

Simply Saturday

Hello stampers!  I needed a card for my brother-in-laws birthday...yesterday...so I sat down today to create something!  The colours over at Colour-Q seemed perfect for a male and this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge is 'Birthday Bash', so a perfect combination!  
I also wanted to play along with the new AnnaBelle monthly challenge - Adding texture!

If I was just starting out with stamping I would start with ink pads and white cardstock, I think from these you can create so much!  Both small pieces of card have been distressed with ink and then stamped with a background stamp from BBD7.  I masked the small area off with what would have to be my second favourite punch after a corner rounder - this one from SU! This panel is raised with dimensional foam.

The first card came together so quickly I went ahead and did another one, this one a little more girlie :)  Unfortunately after a beautiful morning the sky has clouded over so the images are a little dull sorry!
I don't have all the SU! colours from the Colour-Q challenge so I did have to substitute Pool Party for Soft Sky.  The centre to my flowers is So Saffron and I masked a larger area first up and distressed, then masked a smaller circle and distressed again, so it is just the one colour :)

Say It In...Kraft, Lemon & White

Hi all, I hope you've had an amazing week!  I have to admit that all my plans for crafting went out the window this week!  We spent another day in Melbourne yesterday for the boys appointments and it showered all day, but was a lovely day out all the same.  Chris came with us this time which meant I could have a little nap on the way home lol!
So my card was put together this morning after I'd dropped the boys to school, been for a walk and enjoyed a coffee with a friend :)

Some of the Belles have been using Daisy Delight, a set I haven't used in ages, so I thought I would dust it off and use it this morning!  This set is one of the sets due in over the next couple of weeks!  We are finally back on track with a brand new manufacturer!!
I stamped the two smaller images with SU! Banana and then lightly sponged the centres to colour.  The main one I just stamped and cut out, then raised it with dimensional foam.  You might be able to just make out that my white strip is on a piece of kraft card that I distressed down each side.
The sentiment has been heat embossed with out White Opaque EP.
